حديقة الجاحظ : Jnenet El Ja7ess

One of my favorite gardens in Damascus, not necessarily because it's the most beautiful one.
Just because I have the most memorable experiences there!

I remember as a child, my mum or sometimes my sister would take me there to play. I would play on the hard cement animal shaped sculptures and fly down the slides. And on the way out, my mum would buy me candy from the booths right outside the garden.
As a teenager, I would go there with my cousins and buy a "3arnous dira" (corn cob), eat it on one of the green benches in the garden and hang out cracking jokes.

And, at all times, especially at night, all the "shabab"(young generation) would drive to the "jneneh"and park around it to chill and talk till morning eating "sabara" in the summer or "foul nabet" and a cup of nescafe in the winter.

As an adult, me and my mother would wear our sweat suits and head to the garden and walk a few laps around the "Jneneh"for exercise.
And finally, as a mother, I took my children to play there, in the same exact sculpture and slides I used to ride on, with maybe a couple of additions :o)
Can't wait to take my kids there again.
I love you "Jnenet el Jahess" memory.
